Registered with the NHBRC, Ophilex have over 50 domestic enrollments. The Owner and main Contracts Manager, Anthony Germishuys received a runner up position for the Govan Mbeki Housing Award 2008.
Established in 2001 in Hoedspruit and relocated to the southern suburbs of Cape Town, Ophilex have an understanding of sustainable and green building requirements. We strive to reduce impact and damage to the unique and naturally beautiful areas and ecological environment.

ABOUT US
Born in Johannesburg, Anthony and Michelle met each other in 1987. Anthony had completed his 2 year military service and was working as an apprentice as a Fitter and Turner Machinist. Michelle was completing her final year of school. A year later they tied the knot and have never looked back.
The couple worked in the Industrial Engineering industry for a number of years before deciding to re-locate to the Lowveld. The decision to relocate was based on providing a better quality of life for their children, Matthew and Melissa. They established their construction business in 2001 and as Hoedspruit has developed they have grown with the town. Their son Matthew worked with them in the family business for a couple of years and he is now studying to become a personal trainer in the fitness industry. Anthony and Michelle are also very health conscious and have a good balance with a lifestyle which includes time for exercise when they are not working. They have a love for Cape Town and also enjoy a game of golf and outdoor activities.

Ophilex has completed many renovation and maintenance projects over the past 20 years. Ranging from small requests to full house or lodge upgrading and re-modelling. We work closely with our clients to reach their expectations. Many projects have been completed in Cape Town and Southern Peninsula surrounds, but we have also completed projects in Hoedspruit, Free State, Johannesburg and the Transkie - Mboyjtie areas. We are flexible to travel where ever our expertise are required. With our years of experience we can offer creative ideas and advice on transforming nothing into something special at an affordable rate. For maintenance requirements our construction company services the following areas: Simons Town, Glencairn, Fish Hoek, Sun Valley, Kommetjie, Capri, Noordhoek, Kalk Bay.
We construct swimming pools of any shape and size. Rim flow / eternity pools, splash pools, heated pools are a few examples of what we can offer. The client has the option to choose the colour of the mosaic and coping tiles. All swimming pools built come standard with the filter, filter sand, pump, light, DB and pump housing. Decks are constructed with CCA treated timber structure. The decking planks can either be CCA treated pine, hardwood such as Rhodesian Teak or composite. Composite material is made of recycled plastic and comes in various colours. The composite decking planks reduces maintenance and does not require treatment. Hand rails and balustrades are fitted if required. All options and aesthetics are discussed in detail with the clients during the duration of the project.

" From the outset the level and quality of service I received from the team was outstanding. Building to a clearly articulated project plan I received formal weekly updates on progress including a photographic record of the weeks progress. This was particularly important when having to build whilst I was based in Johannesburg. They built “on plan” and within budget but more so took every measure possible so that I didn’t have to worry when the usual challenges to building in a remote area occasionally took hold. The quality and level of finishings has been exceptional and, as has not been the case in my previous experiences with builders, they have moved swiftly and efficiently to ensure that after taking possession of the property, any snags have been remedied immediately and without question.
